Mini Book Haul!

I have been on a book buying ban, for what feels like ages. And there is no end in sight! But fortunately I was lucky enough to receive a gift certificate for an online bookshop, and I made full use of it recently, so I figured I would share my purchases here.

I ordered these books a very long while ago but for some reason they took months to get to me. But they are finally here and I am so happy about them all, and can’t wait to get started on them.

The first book I bought is “The Raven King” by Maggie Stiefvater. This is the long-awaited conclusion to “The Raven Cycle” about the Raven boys and Blue and their hunt for a mythical king that can grant wished to the one who wakes him from his enchanted sleep. I feel like everyone has already read this book, as it has been out for a while, but I have been avoiding reviews, so I don’t know how it holds up to the rest of the books. But I’m excited to see.

The next book is the first in a duology. It’s “Wolf by Wolf” by Ryan Graudin. This book is an alternate history set in a world where the Nazis won the war. Our heroine, Jael, participates in the annual commemorative victory motorcycle race, where the winner gets an audience with Hitler. She plans to kill him, and must play a dangerous game to achieve a ticket to his presence. This sounds like a fantastic book; Nazis, motorcycle races and an assassination plot. What’s not to love?

The last book is “Falling Kingdoms” by Morgan Rhodes. I’ve heard so many people raving about this book, but I actually don’t really know what it’s about. All I know is that it is an epic fantasy series with at least three books, maybe more, and reading the back didn’t tell me much more. I can only hope the hype holds up about this book, although I have been disappointed so often before. But then again, every now and then I am pleasantly surprised, so I will keep my fingers crossed that this is one of those times.

That was my mini book haul. I am very happy with all of these books, and I hope I will have time to read them all soon.
