Book Unhaul
I have recently decided to
try and declutter my life a little bit. Being a bit of a hoarder that
is hard though! Especially when it comes to my beloved books! I feel
like a traitor when I throw books away. (Although I don't even throw
them away, I donate them!) But I have recently decided to toughen up
and get rid of some books that I have no intention of reading again.
These are the books I will
be donating:
“Bring Up the Bodies”
by Hilary Mantel. Because I really didn't enjoy the story or the
writing style.
“Touching My Fathers
Soul” by Jamling Tensing Norgay and Broughton Coburn. I bought this
when I was in India, but the stories of mountaineering and all the
disasters that come with it didn't really interest me.
“Juliet” by Anne
Fortier. The book was okay, but I don't think I will ever read it
again.
“The Boyfriend List”
by e.e. Lockhart. Same as above.
“The Bronze Horseman”
by Paullina Simons. I enjoyed parts of this books, but really
disliked other parts. See my review on this blog.
“The Brief Wondrous Life
of Oscar Wao” by Junot Diaz. I really didn't like this one.
“The Egyptologist” by
Arthur Phillips. I really didn't like this one either.
“Finnikin of the
Rock””Froi of the Exiles” by Melina Marchetta. These two were
okay, but nothing spectacular. See my reviews on this blog. I am
currently reading “Quintana of Charyn” which is the last book in
the series, and once I am done, I will probably donate that one too.
I don't think anything could convince me to read the series again.
“The Subtle Knife” by
Philip Pullman. I am only getting rid of this one because I have the
collected series, so I don't need an extra copy of this.
“Vineland” by Thomas
Pynchon. The story just wasn't interesting to me.
EDIT: I've added "Quintana of Charyb" by Melina Marchetta to the stack. It was okay (see my review), but I will probably never read it again.
