Morocco Packing List

I am leaving for Morocco soon (suddenly it’s so close!) and I thought I would make a little list
of all the things I will be bringing with me. Maybe this will also help me not to forget half my stuff, like I did last time I went on vacation!

But here it goes!

Morocco is hot and sunny at this time of year, and since I don’t handle the sun very well I will be packing lots of sun protection gear. Furthermore modest clothing is advisable, since Morocco is a Muslim country.

In my carry-on luggage that I bring on the airplane and that I will have with me most days I will bring:

  • My glasses
  • My contact lenses
  • A lip balm
  • A bottle of water
  • Snacks
  • A guide book
  • Notebook and pen
  • Camera
  • Ipod and headphones
  • All my travel documents, so: passport, flight tickets, hotel reservation, travel insurance and ID
  • My wallet with money and credit card
  • My cellphone
  • Sunglasses
  • Book for reading
  • Small stock of toilet paper or tissues that can be used as toilet paper
  • Hand sanitizer
  • Watch

In my big checked baggage, which in this case is a 70 liter backpack, I will bring:

  • Sunblock (SPF 50!)
  • My skincare routine
  • Nail clippers
  • A sun hat
  • Long lightweight pants
  • Long skirt
  • T-shirts (mostly short sleeved ones, but also a few long sleeved ones for bad weather days and cool nights)
  • A kimonostyle cardigan
  • A scarf (for cool nights and extra cover up)
  • A light jacket/jumper
  • Socks
  • Underwear
  • Flip-flops
  • Deodorant
  • Hairbrush
  • Toothbrush and toothpaste
  • Bobby pins and hair ties
  • A sleeping bag liner (can be good to have in lower quality accommodations)
  • Shower gel and shampoo
  • A small towel (always nice to have an extra and this can be used as a special towel for when you cleanse your face)
  • A bathing suit
  • Chargers and adaptors for camera, iPod etc.
  • Pajamas
  • A light fleece jumper
  • After sun or moisturizing lotion in general
  • Any pharmaceuticals you might need, like band-aids, pain killers or prescription drugs.
  • Extra copies of my travel documents
Hopefully that will be verything I need. Otherwise it should be possible to buy most stuff there :)
